Torres is accused of having allowed supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro to launch the violent attack that shook the Brazilian capital on Sunday, January 8, and his arrest was determined by Judge Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Court.

At the time of the attacks on Brasília, Anderson Torres was the secretary of public security for the Federal District, a central figure in the city’s security planning. There are suspicions that he deliberately weakened security that day and the role of security forces is also being investigated. Some agents are being accused of collusion, or omission.
